For many years of my life I felt powerless, helpless, hopeless, useless, and fearful. I couldn’t put my finger on a particular reason. I suffered so many terrible things, as I’m sure many people have gone through. My cocktail of pain was a mixture of being crippled from birth, childhood sexual abuse, divorce, cancer, and domestic violence. I just didn’t know why my life seemed to turn out so badly. In my late thirties, I was severely beaten in a domestic violence incident; homeless, helpless, and penniless. Just as so many people do, I knew I needed to start over, but I didn’t know where to start because everything else that I tried failed miserably. But then it happened! I made a choice. I tried the One I had never considered before! As I was awaiting surgeries for the reconstruction of my hand and shoulder, I picked up a book. The Book!
