Sophia Jane Berkley, one of nine children, was born in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in Willowbrook, Ca. She is a single parent of three children and currently resides in Los Angeles.  Sophia has a lifelong love for writing, creative arts, and social service. Text Messages from the Heart of a Ghetto Mom captures Sophia’s bold voice, clever sense of humor and passionate poetry, as she vividly exposes personal experiences and reflections on family, love and the civil rights movement.
