Description

Why is this book called the Coloured Roach family? There are no hidden race intensions. We are a mixed race. And very proud of it. In our case, the Coloured Roach family, started with an Irish/American man who married a Motswana lady. In other words, a White man married a Black lady and made Coloured babies. All the Coloureds born in South Africa with the Roach surname are somehow related and share a common bond. We, the Coloured Roach Family, are a rich mixture of culture and tradition that forms the foundation of a family with the common traits of humour, laughter and we are nomads or as we call it trekkers! And oh yes, let me not forget ? we Roach's just LOVE food and family! Food and family seems to bring us together. Be it at a funeral or a wedding. If we meeting, boy are we eating! Hopefully by now, if you are a Roach, you smiling because you understand. This is the story of where our our family began, the generations that followed and hopefully, in a few volumes to come, where we are today.
