Annatrice of Cayborne

When Annatrice of Cayborne's father is murdered by a tyrannical King, the peasant child is taken as a trophy by her father's slayer. Her unusual qualities are quickly noted and she finds a place amongst his court as one of 'Marianne's ladies', a group of similarly orphaned young women kept for their rulers depraved pleasure. Silently seeking vengeance and with important knowledge regarding her curious origins, it is the onset of war which finally sees Annatrice break the chains of her bondage and make plans to exact her revenge. She soon discovers however even the most benevolent of people she meets on her journey cannot resist taking advantage of her accursed beauty and her extraordinary powers to see others thoughts and emotions.
