There are few extant early Jackson County records due to the August 1872 courthouse fire. This book is one in a series of transcriptions of microfilmed original records that includes those burned years.Detailed testimonies reveal the characters and personalities of many early Jackson Countians, which fills the gaps left by dry dates and names. Some case files contain extremely sensitive information. Although the records broach many delicate subjects, with the passing of 100 or more years, hopefully, readers will take such topics as historical events that fill missing links in family lore and tradition.
