Get out your odds and ends of yarn!
All these afghans can be made with scrap yarn! Not only are they vintage beauties they are economical too.
These patterns were first published from 1930 to the 1950's!
You can create your own crocheted keepsakes from some of the most beautiful afghan patterns of yesteryear. I have re-designed each pattern using current materials and terminology so you can crochet these wonderful Afghans.
All the patterns in my book use Red Heart yarn.
The original vintage patterns called for yarns and sometimes even crochet hooks that are no longer available or extremely difficult to find. The updated re-written pattern instructions were tested using Red Heart yarn in current available colors. The instructions are in US terms.
An international symbol chart has been made for each afghan!
The international symbol system was invented by the Japanese in the 1960's or possibly earlier. The original afghan patterns, however, did not have any symbol charts.
Included is a link to a YouTube Video for the Wheel Afghan!
Most of the afghan patterns are very easy to crochet with the exception of the wheel afghan. This afghan is more challenging and I would recommend it for more experienced crocheters. The wheel block itself is a mix of regular crochet and the afghan stitch.
If you are familiar with the afghan stitch you won't have any problems making the wheels. I made a YouTube video demonstrating this very unique stitch. You will find the link near the end of the book.
