Description

People experience extreme weather all over the world every day. From blizzards that pack cities with snow to thunderstorms that create terrifying tornadoes, this wild weather can be very dangerous and people must learn to be well prepared when it strikes! Teach students about meteorologists, the Fujita scale, condensing water vapor that may form a hurricane, dust storms, and more in this exciting informational text. Colorful images and fun facts paired with age-appropriate text will keep third-grade students engaged from cover to cover! Featuring a hands-on “Think Like a Scientist” lab activity that is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards, this book helps students apply what they've learned in the text and supports STEM instruction. Helpful diagrams and text features, such as a glossary and index, are also included to improve content-area literacy.

About Shell Education
Rachelle Cracchiolo started the company with a friend and fellow teacher. Both were eager to share their ideas and passion for education with other classroom leaders. What began as a hobby, selling lesson plans to local stores, became a part-time job after a full day of teaching, and eventually blossomed into Teacher Created Materials. The story continued in 2004 with the launch of Shell Education and the introduction of professional resources and classroom application books designed to support Teacher Created Materials curriculum resources. Today, Teacher Created Materials and Shell Education are two of the most recognized names in educational publishing around the world.
