Howl of the Hunter

Wiley Wynn an well educated 18th century Virginian travels to Kaskaskia, Illinois territory to become a Market Hunter for the fur trade company, Baynton, Wharton & Morgan. Post French & Indian War, pre-settlement Kentucky is rich in game and rife with danger. Wiley encounters and befriends an escaped Shawnee captive who becomes his lifelong friend and chronicler of their Kentucky hunting and trapping forays, Indian encounters Wileys' mystical connection with wolves and attendant misconceptions by superstitious natives and Carholic priests, their winter near Kaskaskia and enemy haunted Keelboat journey up the Ohio River to fort Pitt.
