The Kite

THE KITE is a story of a boy, named Jon, who is invited by his Grandfather to come to his workshop to build a kite. The locale is in the Green Mountains of Vermont with endless space and freedom to run and fly. Jon is given a great deal of responsibility in the project which he takes seriously. The experience proves to be a journey of discovery for Jon with lessons learned from his Grandfather that few adults have managed. Boys and Girls ages 7-9 will appreciate the relationship between Jon and his Grandfather and the details given about making and flying a kite. The adventure of going into the woods of Vermont on his own when his kite soars to the heights and then drops out of sight adds an element of surprise.
