Gentleman Companion Three (Volume 3)

The third and final book of the Gentleman Companion Trilogy introduces Lawrence's parents who were invited by the ship to be part of the anniversary cruise celebration.  Lawrence's onshore physician communicated with Henry, the medical director with specific restrictions after discovering that Lawrence's disease has progressed to AIDS. All of his dates were limited to the ship where the medical team would monitor his pain needs and the length of his dates reduced throughout the day to allow him rest periods.  
Alinn's application read, "You are so handsome, I want to play games all day with you, have a Sundae bar, and dress in a pirate costume with you. I also want to buy a giant kite and fly it off the back of the ship, high in the sky above the seagulls. Most importantly I want to stay up late, past my bedtime." Alinn, a young adult with Down's syndrome had patiently waited for her 25th birthday to have a date with Lawrence who she had met on a previous cruise.
 Lawrence looked at the engraving of the bracelet he would be giving his dates, his mother and Rolf" Let your mind drop into your heart; embrace your voice of acceptance and understanding."
