Three classic tales from 1934 and 1935: Shadows in the Moonlight – Fugitives Conan and Oliva escape to a seemingly deserted island, where they sleep in ruins decorated with lifelike statues. Olivia awakes convinced the statues will come to life. But Conan is more interested in the giant boulders being lobbied at them from the jungle. Conan slays a pirate captain but is knocked unconscious and freed by Olivia, who begs him to let her stay with him. Queen of the Black Coast – Conan demands passage aboard a sail barge, and the captain agrees after threats of violence. Their ship is attacked by pirates led by Bêlit, the Queen of the Black Coast, who Conan finds attractive. She offers Conan the opportunity to lead her fierce warriors and together they raid the Black Coast. They encounter ancient ruins, a lost treasure, a winged monstrosity and skulking hyenas who were once men. Shadows in Zamboula – Conan spends a night in a Zamboula tavern. All of the city slaves are cannibals who roam the streets looking for prey. Conan spots a naked woman chasing her deranged lover and rescues them. She promises Conan a reward if he helps her kill the high priest responsible for her lover’s condition. Conan takes revenge on the tavern owner.
