Description

In 1873, a group of immigrants, all from the area of Singsås Norway formed a wagon train and crossed the unbroken prairie of Minnesota to find land to homestead. They found the land on the shore of Lake Hendricks along the border of South Dakota and together started the town of Hendricks, MN. Years later, those who were on the wagon train gathered and documented their experience in a booklet “The Immigrants Trek”. This is a unique first person account of their travels and experiences. It is reprinted here with a small profit to the Pioneer Museum of Hendricks.
