Description

Honorable Martin Dies in January of 1967. "The extent of our losses abroad is enormous. “But, whatever the state of our defeats beyond our borders, they are paled by the losses at home. “We are at least pretending to fight Communism abroad. “At home there isn't even a pretense." J. Edgar Hoover made this observation in December of 1961: "The Communist threat from without must not blind us to the Communist threat from within. “The latter is reaching into the very heart of America through its espionage agents and a cunning, defiant, and lawless Communist Party, which is fanatically dedicated to the Marxist cause of world enslavement and destruction of the foundations of our Republic." Intelligence specialist Frank Capell has this to say in March of 1971: "Before the election of Franklin Delano Roosevelt Communists were dealt with by the local police under state laws. “They were prosecuted and often deported. “But, with the arrival of the New Deal, Communists were permitted to move into key positions and began to help shape our national policies and programs. “They had been given a new 'respectability'." During World War II Communists running the War Department tried to destroy all files on fellow subversives held by the various branches of the military! In 1943, Naval Intelligence was directed to destroy their vital records on all known and suspected Communists in the United States. At least 100,000 incriminating file cards were methodically removed and burned. Alexander Barmine was a former Russian General and then advisor to the Office of Strategic Services. He was fired from the Communist infested OSS when he wrote in the October 1944 Readers Digest: "Tremendous pressure was exerted to bring about a dismantling of those branches of the Army and Navy intelligence which dealt with the activities of Communists and Communist-fronters, and a destruction of their files. “In the Third Naval District the Navy had extensive files on subversive individuals and organizations. “So authoritative had this intelligence unit become that its weekly reports went regularly to the FBI. “Several months ago the Washington Office of Navy Intelligence was partially dismantled, the New York 'desk' was virtually abolished and its trained experts sent to remote and unrelated assignments elsewhere." Who behind the scenes masterminded and got away with this incredible anti-intelligence maneuver? Chief of Staff General George Catlett Marshall ordered the destruction of all Army counterintelligence data! Why would George Marshall even consider destroying the Army files on Red traitors in the first place? The records were saved only because of forceful action taken by Senator Styles Bridges. David Emerson Gumaer charged: "At the conclusion of the war [World War II] some fifty thousand security files on subversives known to be operating within the American military were destroyed on orders from top officials in our government."
