Widow’s Weeds in the Garden of Life is a book for anyone who’s ever lost a loved one, but mostly it’s a survival manual for widows. Not a how-to book but rather vignettes of everyday life the author faced when she became a reluctant expert on widowhood: House repairs, bill paying and car maintenance. Marilyn describes herself as a woman of little means and less mechanical aptitude when her husband of thirty-eight years died.
