Detailed history of Spalding golf balls from 1895 to 2013. The oldest Spalding golf balls are extremely difficult to locate and photograph as Spalding no longer produces golf balls. This book has photographed all that are currently available to the author in private collections. Version 1.1 update currently includes 50 pictures of 125 known Spalding models. Lists all currently known Spalding models. Contains 132 pictures of 164 known and listed Top-flite models, and 13 pictures of 28 known and listed Strata models. Includes pictures of seam markings, dates of 1st manufacture when known and performance descriptions. Includes a brief history of the golf ball from wooden balls to Gutta Percha. Includes detailed technical terms and glossary for material science and ball construction as well as performance and testing parameters. Companion book to "How to Succeed at Golf" M. Hatcher. Version 1.1 corrects sequencing and picture labeling alignment addressed by the last reviewer, adds additional golf balls and more detail. Note to Collectors: This book is not intended for collectors who auction golf balls, affiliate advertisers or collectors who require a complete photographic record of the oldest Spalding golf balls no longer available to the public record or public collections. As new golf balls are known or collected, they will be included in future versions of the book. Lists and provides pictures when available of known Spalding/Topflite/Strata golf balls. Spalding/Topflight/Strata golf balls were used by Harry Vardon, Sam Snead and Mark O'Meara, at different points in their careers.
