Sabre Jet: A Novel of the Korean War

As the Korean War begins in June of 1950, Allied troops are shoved back to a small perimeter of land near Pusan. The US, desperate to save our soldiers, rushes fighters and bombers to Japan. MIG jet fighters have been spotted cruising at extremely high altitudes, fighters that our P-51's and F-80 jets are no match for in battle. Desperate to counter this threat, four of our latest F-86 Sabre Jets are flown to Japan, a feat never before attempted. They are flown by three of the best men in the Air Force and a woman test pilot and combat trainer from Nellis AFB in Nevada. Flying in combat by a woman is against all Air Force regulations but the situation in Korea is so serious, combat command overlooks the problem as an emergency solution to a critical cause. Constantly tested by the men in her unit, the challenges in the air, and the enemy, she becomes one of the early aces of the war with five planes downed before she herself is shot down over North Korea. Running for her life across the North Korean countryside, she attempts to make her way south to the Pusan Perimeter and safety with one harrowing adventure after another plaguing on her journey.
