Into the Outdoors: Creating the outdoor classroom

This book clearly describes how to set up an outdoor classroom, and the various components that need to be and that can be included. This is the stuff of hands-on science that will light the fires of your student’s imaginations—with butterfly gardens, stream, pond and water exercises, vermiculture (worms) and soils studies, rock-ID walls, bird-watch stations, and identification of animal tracks, to name but a few. The remainder of the book is divided into the four components of middle-school science (nature of science, earth and space science, life science [expanded into animals and plants], and physical science), with student exercises, web-based resources, imaginative approaches to draw hands-on to a long-term passion for the outdoors.
