The Accident: A Novel

Katherine Brewer leaves the house at dinner time without telling her husband or children where she is going. Hours later her husband receives a phone call informing him she has been in an auto accident and is at the hospital, unconscious. Paul Brewer, pastor of a church, seeks to find out where she went that evening and to uncover the reasons for his wife's recent erratic behavior. He also must tend to the needs of congregation and parent his children. The Accident is a mystery novel with religious, psychological, and philosophical themes as well. It delves into the challenges of marriage and the pains of depression. The setting is coastal North Carolina. The scenes will be familiar to those who either live in or visit the eastern part of the state.
