Come…journey with me…journey back to a time and place where memories lay dormant for years, but now come alive to reveal themselves in tales of love’s first kiss, of death’s cold sting, of selfish acts of gain, and selfless acts of caring. Did it really exist? Or were the tales just figments, mere flights of fancy in their minds? No. The old photographs are real and the charred, melted remnants are still there. Because of the great depression this extended family had to strive together at this isolated, remote sanctuary to become a larger nuclear family where the resources of each were shared by all. Dick Coleman and his friend, Jimmy Varner came here seeking adventure. Little did they know the adventures they would experience that summer would change each of them for life and shape them into the men they would become.
