Alonso Truylos' saga continues after washing ashore a garden island. Surprisingly, to him, he finds the island inhabited by a compassionate people who revive him. Alonso is immersed in their rich culture, where men are Gods, priests raise children with magical talents, and recreation rules the day. The King adopts Alonso, against the wishes of a jealous hierarchy. He is granted the position of a great chief. Meanwhile, he falls in love with a higher-classed woman, Lei. This woman is also pursued by Alonso's closest friend and fellow high chief, Kahaloa. Then, unexpectedly, war erupts. The King must defend his sovereignty against brothers.
