Description

Fear of Freedom is the title of the second of the political articles in this book that are, for the most part, based on a different viewpoint than most people consider comfortable. For instance, a high percentage of the people in the world are afraid of the freedom that many of us cherish. An example is the women that stay in an abusive relationship rather than face the world alone, even if it kills them. A couple of dozen other articles discuss a variety of issues ranging from the myopic focus that many conservatives have on the Obama presidency to the exclusion of the underlying problems, to the millions of American children that are hostages, held by their own parents, to extort money from the US government. These articles started as short pieces for the email list of the Winter Haven 912 Project and were each held to 2,000 words (5 pages) or less to fit that format. As a result, each article attempts to make a single point very clear with a minimum of the fluff of extra verbiage. Some of the real time feedback is included from members of the project. This book came about from the frequent suggestions that the articles needed to be collected and given wider distribution. My viewpoints are not always comfortable for many of the conservative 912 members. I assume that they will not always be comfortable for other people. Comfortable or not, I expect that many of the articles will either be blindingly obvious, or infuriating, depending on the knowledge and viewpoint that the reader brings to the table.
