Chihuahuan Desert National Parks Reptile and Amphibian Inventory

A reasonable first step toward conserving natural resources in parks, therefore, is to simply figure out what those natural resources are. In the late 1990s, the NPS began a program to take this first step and inventory the vascular plants and vertebrates (i.e., mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians) that inhabit each park with significant natural resources.
