The Chronicles of Caroline Casey

This book consists of four contemporary fantasy novellas (The Magical Truths of Caroline Casey, The Magical Truths of Phoenix Rising, The Magical Truths of Betwixt and Between, and The Magical Truths of the Immortal Maiden). In The Magical Truths of Caroline Casey, 15-year-old Caroline finds herself in a supernatural battle of good against evil. With the help of two gnomes (Hob and Nob) and a troll named Sylvester, Caroline tries to stop the plot of a sinister sorcerer. When Caroline’s older sister (Helen) attracts the sorcerer’s attention, the conflict intensifies. Caroline and her companions must eventually enter the sorcerer’s lair as they try to complete a dangerous mission. In The Magical Truths of Phoenix Rising, 16-year-old Caroline Casey enters into the mystical world of elves, gnomes, fairies, and other magical creatures. Although Caroline would prefer to enjoy an ordinary summer vacation like an ordinary teenager, she chooses to use her special gifts to help the elves, who are in a war against evil shapeshifters. The elves need to win the shapeshifter war in order to prevent the world from descending into chaos and darkness. After Caroline travels through a mystical gateway to Ireland, she meets a young man whom she finds both annoying and intriguing. There is a surprise twist late in the story when Caroline and her friends gain help from an unexpected ally. In The Magical Truths of Betwixt and Between, 17-year-old Caroline Casey once again finds herself in a magical, mystical world. Caroline would like a normal summer vacation, but things never seem to work out that way. Her unique ability to discern truth from lies makes Caroline a valuable ally to the elves. A qilin (with the head of a dragon and the body of a tiger) is supposed to be a mythological creature. However, when a qilin shows up in Caroline’s backyard, the adventure begins. Caroline and her friends seek to stop a plot against Betwixt, a mystical island that moves from dimension to dimension, from world to world. Leviathan and other dangerous sea serpents threaten Betwixt and all its inhabitants. In The Magical Truths of the Immortal Maiden, 18-year-old Caroline Casey is transported through a mystical portal to a world dominated by vampires. The vampires are especially interested in capturing a young woman named Gabriella Annunciata because her blood is infused with tremendous power. Gabriella is helped by Caroline and a group of knights who wage a brave war against the vampires. Caroline, Gabriella, and the knights eventually join forces with elves from earth and some of Caroline’s other friends.
