Meeting Europe`s most incompetent mugger on Montjuic hill,Barcelona, visiting the spectacular house of El Greco in Toledo, finding great food at midnight in Madrid ,Don Juan, Carmen and the beauties of Islam in Seville. Our mature but active wanderer misreads maps but sees the patterns of history in all its dramas. Wandering through the dark streets of old Seville leads to a night of flamenco. From the gate of the sun in Toledo he sees the land of Don Quixote whose spirit pervades all of Spain. Each chapter lasts as long as a leisurely cup of coffee and stimulates like the finest brew.
