Where the Labrador Roam: Welcome to Barry's World

Meet Barry Marrowlove, an Evolutionarily Modified (EM) Labrador from a future society. Our hero shares his loves with many partners till he settles down, his losses, his days as a dog of war in an abandoned urban wasteland with feline EM foes, and various adventures till our narrator makes it to be a one hundred year old Grandfather. Barry, our ever humble narrator, recalls a society where life is cheap, food is everything, the lawn is worth dying for, Where the Labrador Roam sets out to be more than a talking animal fable, it's a look at man in relation to canines, and artificial evolution pandering to consumer markets. Barry's narrative covers from the beginning of civilisation to the present, to perhaps centuries from now. It's a future world where the last remaining animals are modified to take on many new (and unusual) forms, a world where animals are changed to suit entertainment trends, and sometimes evolution takes on unpredictable twists and turns.
