deaf and hearing impaired pupils and the mainstream education system

Making decisions for your child can be hard enough when trying to do what’s best for them, it is even harder when deciding what school is best for your child when they are deaf, after all the choice of education chosen for each child will determine their future including career and aspirations and social skills. I have chosen to look into this subject and I aim to establish what the best educational approach for deaf and hearing impaired children is, whether this is a mainstream school or a specialised school. I aim to find this out by researching the educational needs of a deaf pupil and then establishing which school is best for them.
