The Park

Ned is a social outsider with an anxiety disorder. He finds himself welcomed into a group of people who are, for a variety of reasons, equally at odds with society. The new friends discover that the park where they meet is threatened by a major planning application. They realise that they must pull together to protect their environment. This challenge, along with Ned's friendship with the group's unofficial leader, Lydia, gives him the impetus to tackle his illness. The seemingly impossible task of battling his demons must begin, but he will need some help along the way. As well as examining themes of friendship, loyalty and morality, the story attempts to provide an insight into the loneliness of mental illness.
