'Toy Soldiers,' as was his first book, 'The Rose of Singapore,' is based on the experiences of the author Peter Neville, who was born on St. Patrick's Day 1933, christened Patrick, but prefers to be called Peter. In vivid detail Neville describes the four years leading up to June 6th, 1944, D-Day and the landing of the first allied troops on the beaches of Normandy, France, which, as Winston Churchill said in his famous speech to the nation that day, "The beginning of the end of Hitler's Nazi Germany has begun."
