The Thin Ghost and Others is M.R. James’s third collection of ghost stories originally published in1919, following his best-selling Ghost Stories of an Antiquary, More Ghost Stories. About The Author James (1862–1936) was a medieval scholar at Cambridge university. Many of his ghost stories were written to be read aloud as was traditional on spooky Christmas Eve. His tales are often based in rural settings, with a scholarly caught in the whirl of the supernatural.
