Asperini everywhere must find a solution to halt the diminishing numbers or they too will eventually perish. Many believe there is no other way than to abandon the waters and walk the land. To do this they must mate with the nghozas and teach their young how to use legs. Morg is born to a shawl believing in such a move, but the thought disgusts her. So when they ask her to let an nghoza male mate with her, she refuses. This was deemed unsatisfactory by the shawls leader and will make her do it if necessary.
