All of my days are full and happy now. Those dark days, days full of fear and dread, days when every waking moment was a living nightmare that seemed to go on forever… they’re finally behind me. I will never stop being thankful for this new life, for being able to leave all of the bad times behind me, for finally being able to break the chain of abuse. And I can show you how you can too. Breaking the chain isn’t just about you and I – the victims. It’s about everybody and what we all need to do. We need to do more to protect children from abuse – a quick look through the latest paper will bear testament to that fact. And a big step towards that is simply learning to talk about it. Whether it’s happening now, could be happening now, or, as in my case, happened in the past. We need to create an environment where we can talk about it freely without fear. Breaking the Chain is about one womans fight for survival. Of throwing off the shackles of her past, her family, her environment and the horrendous abuse she suffered as a child. Follow her journey to realising her dream of sustaining a successful relationship and happy family against all odds. And then achieving her goal of helping others do the same. Breaking the Chain.
