Utah Politics Under the Dome: Representation and the Utah Legislature

Each winter, the Utah Legislature passes twice as many bills during its brief seven-week session as the U.S. Congress passes in an entire year. After the Legislature adjourns, the state's local governments continue crafting policy at an astonishing pace. Most of the decisions that affect Utah's residents, schools, businesses, and communities are made here in Utah, not in Washington DC. Fortunately, Utah's state and local governments are as accessible as they are important. Four in five Utahns live within an hour's drive of the Capitol and can easily observe Legislative proceedings in person.
