A Shooting In Augusta

Being a police officer requires a certain kind of courage that is not physical but moral and mental. It is the courage to embrace the risk that on any given day you will be required to make a split-second decision that will almost certainly be second-guessed by the public, by the media, and even perhaps by your own superiors. The incidence of officer-involved shootings is on the rise, and so is the incidence of school shootings. Yet our expectation remains that the police will do the right thing at the right time, every time. Augusta P.D. Officer Phillip Boudreau is confronted with the need to make such a decision one September day when a 17 year old boy leaves for school with a gun taken from his father's house.
