Dignity and Disgrace

Dignity and Disgrace is a work of fiction that follows the stories of two protagonists. X was born in a wealthy household and has received a world-class education. Q grew up in poverty and dropped out of high school. This story serves as a critical analysis of the War on Drugs and its effects upon young Black men in the United States. Both characters become entangled in the criminal justice system despite their socioeconomic status, and the plot primarily concerns the events leading up to and following their arrests.
