Description

This book was written to give people who have never taken a cruise an idea of what it is like to take one. It is based upon a journal I kept during a cruise we took on the STAR PRINCESS from January 3-13, 2015. It also includes speculations I made in my journal about the nature of cruising and the motivations and psyches of people who take cruises--especially people who take fifty or a hundred cruises. On our cruise there was a couple that had spent more than 2200 days on Princess cruises--that is, more than three years of their lives cruising. A number of years ago I lectured on Princess cruises and my wife and I have taken eight or nine (depending upon how you count voyages) ocean cruises. We've also taken a few river cruises, which are quite different from ocean cruises.
