The Crimean Times

This is the story of the struggle for life of the Tartars to be able to stand their grounds in their own land during the war of 1853-1856. The Tartars, who had put up against the oppression by the Russians which had occupied their ancestral land in 1783, had bravely withstood the oppression, the famine and the exile to which they were exposed, trying to maintain their brilliant culture. The aged Nizam Bey imbued with the heroic tradition of the past, who had never given up his ideal for liberation, finds his expectations kindled on the occasion of the Ottoman-Russian conflict and strives to incite his people to take the field.
