Small Circle of Friends (William Bell, Detective) (Volume 1)

This is the first in a series of novels called The William Bell Detective Series, featuring William (Bill) Bell, a former FBI special agent and native of Eureka, California. In this novel we meet the main characters of the series while Bill investigates a friend’s being driven off the road and the attempts of a San Francisco based cartel to take over some local night clubs. He starts out thinking the local club owner, Tony, is a crook, responsible for his friend’s accident, but he learns along the way the club owner is another victim. There is excitement as he faces the challenges of finding the truth. In the end he catches the true bad guys and falls for his longtime friend and marries her. His story ends happily as he prepares for his honeymoon and further adventures. The story takes place in Eureka, CA and is faithful to the people and places of the town.
