Edwina, Dear: Love letters to our mother

In early 1941 dad met our mother on a blind date. He immediately fell in love and proposed that very evening. Being a practical young woman, mom felt she needed a little more time getting to know this fellow before making any lifelong commitments. Dad spent the next several months confessing his love to the girl from King City. When the time was right he popped the question a second time - this time she said 'yes' without hesitation. They were married on December 5th, 1941, 2 days before the bombing of Pear Harbor. They were married for 49 years and 4 months. Dad died 4 days after his 76th birthday. Mom went on to live for another 16 years without him. This is a collection of the love letters mom held on to for over 66 years. I discovered them when cleaning out her home when she died in 2007.
