Florence and the Highwayman

Can Florence Fisher accept Lord Head’s proposal of marriage to save her family from ruin? On a visit to Cockermouth her carriage is waylaid and it overturns, injuring her maid, Sybil, and they are forced to stay in the forest for two days with their abductor, Luke Lancaster. On her return home Florence vows to forget the way Luke’s advances have affected her. She accepts Lord Head, but at the engagement party, before the engagement is formally announced, Luke turns up and sends her emotions into turmoil.
