Beyond the Endurance of a Billion: Freedom to suffer

The development in a country after independence is subject to the effectiveness of the elected rulers. Under democracy the people elect the rulers but before electing them whether the people know the value of their right to vote the possible outcome of wrong selection of rulers the sufferings they have to undergo for choosing the wrong candidates to rule them. But a country with very low literacy rate Indians have suffered for empowering people to rule through the process of election The elected were not like the patriots who sacrificed everything for getting freedom for the nation. But the ruling politicians after independence were not in any way similar to the freedom fighters. Nepotism corruption and other ills of misrule enveloped the democratic government over 6 decades and the result - beneath the physical sufferings the hapless people remained highly agitated.
