Description ▲
On June 5, 1976, the Teton Dam in eastern Idaho collapsed. This disaster killed 11 people, 20,000 livestock, and caused millions of dollars of property damage. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Teton Dam collapse, author Jane Freund gathered memories from dozens of people who were impacted by the disaster. In addition, Freund shares her recollection of the event as she was 13 at the time and living in Idaho Falls, which was directly affected by the collapse.
