Diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease at the young age of 9, life as Kelly knew it changed forever. Through countless medical procedures, surgeries, medications and so forth, Kelly has lived a lot of life in her short 23 years on this earth. Now she is taking her story and sharing it with the world to raise awareness. The lessons she’s learned along the way are life lessons we all can learn from also. Author, Kelly Sedlacek, began her journey with Crohn’s Disease in 2003 at the age of 9. Dealing with a chronic illness at such a young age changed more than her childhood. It changed her outlook on life. Kelly’s journey has been anything but simple over the years. Yet at the end of the day, she wouldn’t change a minute of the journey thus far. Her hopes for sharing this book with the world is to raise awareness of Crohn’s Disease, show what life with this disease looks like, as well as share the ways in which she has learned to cope and to keep fighting. Joining Kelly in writing this book is guest author Carey Sadler, owner and instructor at Rivercity Pilates. Carey and Kelly first met when Kelly turned to the world of Pilates and mindful movement as a way to cope with the many aches, pains, and imbalances she faces. Since beginning a Pilates practice, Carey has helped Kelly to empower her body and inspire her life in Pilates and beyond.
