William Le Queux was a British writer and diplomat. Le Queux wrote books in a variety of genres including war fiction, mysteries, thrillers, and espionage. Much of Le Queux's work centered around World War I. The Great War in England in 1897 is a novel that was published in 1894. The book is one of the earliest examples of invasion literature. The action in the story depicts Britain being invaded by coalition forced led by France and Russia.
