Resources for Tomorrow

This text is intended to help students develop an understanding of the scientific, social and economic issues related to the use of our natural resources. Each module provides a comprehensive examination of a particular resource: Atlantic Salmon, Offshore Oil, Mining, Forestry, Agriculture. The Atlantic Salmon module for example includes details of salmon biology; an explanation of its migration and distribution; an assessment of its social and economic impact; and discussions of the role of resource management and the subject of aquaculture. Other issues such as commercial versus recreational fishing are discussed, and debates on all matters affecting salmon resources are encouraged.
