The Afterlife of Vincent Van Gogh

A man takes a trip to a wheat field in Auners-sur-Oise, France, on July, 27, 1890, with the intention of helping Vincent Van Gogh kill himself. When Van Gogh asks who he is, the stranger simply replies, “Why not paint my portrait?”—thus turning time on its heels as the fictional biography leaps into the Parisian art world of Cézanne, Apollinaire, and Picasso.
