The Untidies - Bonding a Nation

The UNTIDIES - Bonding a Nation is the story of the University Naval Training Divisions accompanied by an overall historical account of naval affairs and global events that influenced the UNTD program. Initially established in 1943, and in place until 1968, the comprehensive officer training program enabled thousands of young men to obtain a university degree, an officer's commission, get to know their own country, visit foreign ports while practising seamanship and make lasting friendships. Many have become well-recognized personalities, judges, doctors, lawyers, writers, politicians and entrepreneurs. This is their story.
