Leaving Death for Life

Harry O. Veach was born in Kankakee, Illinois in 1897, and during his years of formal education he excelled in study, research and practice of medicine. He was judged to be "100 years ahead of his time." He spent the latter years of his professional practice in Rochester, New York as Medical Director for the Salvation Army. Through this facility he administered "one-shot" cures to many homeless individuals afflicted with alcoholism. Dr. Veach passed away in 1982. James J. Mabe, a friend and agent to Dr. Veach, engaged in the promotion of the medical discoveries and attempted to broaden the distribution of the medicines through the vast financial empire of Howard Hughes. While negotiations were being conducted, Mr. Hughes died of the very disease (considered terminal) that Dr. Veach had previously cured; glomerulonephritis, a fatal kidney disease that ended Howard Hughes' life before he could avail himself of Dr. Veach's treatment. Following numerous attempts to publicize Dr. Veach's discoveries Mabe eventually re-edited and revised Dr. Veach's story of medical cures, but retained the original title, "Leaving Death For Life." James Mabe Bio - Co-author James Mabe is president of a publicity firm specializing in news releases and general consultation to the business world as well as political candidates. A Connecticut resident serving in past management positions within the electric shaver and personal care appliance industry, he functions also as an artists representative and career counselor in the entertainment world. Mabe is a member of the Disabled American Veterans Organization and a former member of "The Ends Of The Earth", a 100 year plus organization of American and British "chief men" in the arts, government, industry, military, and categories where "acts of derring-do" have been accomplished and recognized. He has a ten year background in the military from enlisted man to officer.
