Quandra Loka (The Invisible Space of Conscious Light) 52 Views

This large-format catalog pictures a series of 52 works from the Quandra Loka Suite by Adi Da Samraj. The second publication of his art, the catalog was produced in conjunction with an exhibition at the Louis Stern Gallery in Los Angeles in 2003. The sequence of the 52 "Views" in the exhibition catalog was designed by Adi Da to form a progression that is both meaningful and aesthetically potent. Thus, the book is itself a work of art, in which the communicative force of his images is magnified by assembling them into artful sequences. Adi Da Samraj: "Quandra Loka is a visual meditation on a very simple circumstance: a woman in and near a pool of water. Narcissus, the archetype of ego, gazes at his own reflection in a pond, never able to contact the object of his self-enamored affection. But Quandra, the true beloved, is one with the water itself, whether in or out of the pool.
