Basic Activated Sludge Process Control

This publication will teach operators the basic practices for controlling the performance of the activated sludge systems. The reader will be able to: describe biochemical oxygen demand; identify the five basic activated sludge systems in use today; perform the recommended basic process control tests in their activated sludge plants; identify basic biological organisms in activated sludge; understand safety considerations and demonstrate each of the control tests and their uses.
