World Economic Outlook: September 2004

This bi-annual publication sets out the IMF's analysis of global economic developments and policy issues for major country groups and individual countries. This edition also contains papers on the following issues: the current house price boom in industrialised countries; the shift from fixed exchange rates to floating exchange rates in emerging market economies in the 1990s; fiscal policy under the common currency arrangements in euro area member states; and the global economic impact of demographic changes related to population ageing trends.
